New Regulation for Stress-Free and Safe Travel to Turkey

A new regulation has come into force for all South Africa passport holders planning to visit Turkey as of January 1, 2024.

In order to benefit from the Turkey E-visa exemption, it has become mandatory for travelers to have a valid Travel Health Insurance covering the entire duration of their stay.

Visitors who purchase this officially approved travel insurance will be exempt from the requirement to obtain a tourist visa.

​

This compulsory insurance is a very important entry requirement and must comply with certain criteria set by the Turkish authorities.

Failure to present the insurance policy covering your stay in Turkey may result in denial of entry by border security.
